New look for the Beemer cafe racer.

I've been looking for a solution for the tank for months, couldn't find one, so I decided to put a stock BMW tank on so I can at least ride it this year. It was not as easy as it looked, it's an old tank with not enough room for all the electrics of my newer bike, so I still have some electrical issues to work out. The exhaust didn't look right anymore either, too skinny with this huge tank, that's why I made the new one you can see in the previous post.

It looks nice this way and I really like the patina of this tank, but it still is just a temporary solution till I can find or afford a better tank.

Fuel Bespoked Motorcycles: BMW dirt tracker/scrambler

*ping* New email. From the south of Europe again, history has learned that it can only mean one thing: A cool bike. History is right: A very cool bike. I have seen it on several blogs before and I usually don't like posting bikes that have already been all over the internet, my blog is only small, so 99% chance you've seen it already anyway, but I'll make an exception for this bike.

It's a BMW scrambler build by Fuel Bespoked Motorcycles/Karles and it is exactly how a BMW scrambler should be. The right seat, the right colors, the right handle bars, even the right tires. The total picture just looks perfect. I'd LOVE to take that bike on unpaved mountain roads. So here it is, another fantastic Beemer from Spain:

Also very nice to see that Karles has taken the effort to get really good photo's of his bike. Crappy cellphone photo's would not have done justice. Check his bike @ Fuel motorcycles

New welder

I've had it for a while now, but couldn't afford the extras needed for it. With the internship (payed, not much, but money is money) I now could afford the necessary bits. Works fine, happy I can TIG weld now!

foto's custom bikeshow Oudewater

There was a custom bike show yesterday in the old city of Oudewater, organized by one of the color clubs. I am not into chrome and certainly not into MC's, but it was nearby, so I went there to have a look on the way to an appointment.

Atmosphere was really nice, surprisingly little police (only 2 officers as far as I've seen), good food and very well organized. The bikes were not to my taste, as expected. Did like the orange Harley, the trike and the rat bikes though. Here are the photo's:

Amsterdam

Took the CB to Amsterdam last week. I just love that city..... Anyway, Zoran knew a nice old wharf, so we took our bikes there to see if it's a nice place fot photo's. It is, so I'll have to go back there, not that you'll here me complaining about that....

Just above the seat you can see Amsterdam central station

Zoran has done a few minor things on his KZ like heat wrapping the exhaust and painting some parts. Looks the business!!!

Not that I have anything to complaim about
Some great graffiti there!! Someone was really quick to respond to the EHEC bacteria

On the way back I took a little detour via the old city center. Great place. Didn't take my time to take decent photo's though.

reader's ride

I got an email from fellow student Boy. He's done pretty much the same as I have: Bought a very cheap CB and brought it back to life low budget style. He's pretty happy with the end result and I can sure imagine that! Another great looking CB on the roads. Nice!

:)

The title sums up my day pretty well. Started of pretty early and had the roads for myself. The 35-40 kilometers shortest route to the Virago was happily ignored in favor of the back roads.

The Virago has a new headlight. Bought it at a local flee market for 2,- euros, I think it looks great.

The bike gave us some troubles today, so we did a lot of work with only minor progress, but progress = progress and we had a great time, helped by the brilliant weather.

The way back on the CB was incredible. On one hand I wish I could get a video chip implanted in my eyes to share the sheer beauty of the reflections of the setting sun on the front fender and headlight, on the other hand I am to selfish and keep the experience to myself. Absolutely fabulous.

The BMW is a blast to ride, the Virago really impressive, but the CB is just so hugely pleasant to ride. You can accelerate out of a corner and throw it into the next while the exhaust is screaming for more and when you've had enough you can just cruise home. I love it.

May it rest in pieces

Well, that was the end of my video camera :)

Anybody who got a spare GoPro Hero left for me or is feeling the need to sponsor one, contact me :P

All joking aside. I paid 20,- euros for it two years ago or so, so I can't really be sad that it got destroyed.
