Back from France

We went to France for about a week and a half for a short holiday. I really needed one.... The weather was great and scenery was great. Contrary to popular believe the French people are really friendly and helpfull, so all in all, we had a great time.

Now it's back to work for me. On Monday I have a really important presentation and in the next few weeks I will finish my study, meaning I will have to find a job. All in all I won't be having much time for the bikes the next 2 months or so, unfortunately.

New shop opening

No, I have not gone commercial and I am not getting money for this. I am, however, very excited with the new shop opening in Ede, the Netherlands. We don't really have shops like this one here yet and I am anxious to check out what that have. One think I know for sure: It'll be really cool stuff.

Photo's

As you might notice: The photo's in my last posts aren't working. This is because I exceeded the traffic data limit of my photobucket account for this month. They'll be back up next month, so I'm not going to do anything about it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

At this moment I am a bit too busy with my internship, presentations and I also started looking for a job. That means I've had, and will have, little time to do anything on the blog. Hopefully things will quiet down in a few weeks.

Please take your time to read this

I received an email from Chris Fiaccone today. This is what it said:

A couple months ago, my best friend from childhood broke every vertebrae in his neck--and we know what that means. He's a cop in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma USA and was off duty having a pint with his father. A fight broke out at the pub, and the bartender--knowing he was a cop--asked if he could help usher the fight outside. During the process, two guys picked him up and slammed him on his head--immediately breaking his neck and concussing him. The guys then stomped on his head, jeering about what they did to a cop. My friend has 4 young kids, and though he'll likely survive, he will never be the same.

On May 1, there is a fundraiser at the 51st Street Speakeasy (1114 NW 51st St, Oklahoma City, OK 73118-4408) to help his family. I'm donating this bike (
http://www.motofiaccone.com/moto/40-cl350-cafe-racer/129-cl350-scafe-racer-alt-flats) to the fundraiser. Is there any way you can help promote the 1.) what has happened to a police office 2.) the event and 3.) the bike donation. It would get people extremely exited to see a bike they are buying on auction featured on your blog . Any promotional help is well appreciated.

First of all: The world needs guys like this, so the world needs to show it's thankful for people like Chris' friend. And I think Chris deserves a lot of credit for offering his bike for the fund raising.

Please reblog, repost, retweet, email, facebook link, whatever you can think of.

New watermark in the Photo's

I have a watermark in the photo's as you might have noticed. I never paid too much attention to it, just put it there because I was pretty unhappy with people putting their logos on my photo's without asking. I redesigned it now, I think this is a lot better.

I also noticed that the next photo (which I am posting for the third time I think, sorry for that) is getting quite a lot of attention. So, specially for you, here it is in full size (after you click on photo).

Wanted: Models

And I don't mean the female kind, though I won't say no to that!!

When you go trough the pages of this blog You'll see that besides motorcycles photography is also a bit of a hobby of mine. The perfect combination is obviously taking photo's of bikes, easy. Only: I've been photographing the same couple of bikes for a long time now and it won't hurt to photograph a few others, so:

If you want some pictures of your bike: mail me.

I'm convinced that kapitalisme has already destroyed too much, so I'll do it for fee. Gratis. Gratuit. Voor nop. But since I'll be doing it for free I have a few demands, those are:

- The bike must be special. Either nicely restored, nicely customized or in an excellent condition. - It also had to happen in or around the City of Utrecht, the Netherlands. Else it'll take me too much time and the traveling will be too expensive for me.

So that's it. Mail me if interested!

When this bike builder get's bored

The garden is still covered in snow, so no bike building here. We have worked on the Virago, but we spend most of our time on the new startermotor that turned out not to work either. Wast of money and time.

The only thing left to do was play around a bit with metal pieces I had kept (never throw away metal).

Hope to be able to go back to bike building soon, but the weather forecast doesn't look very good :(

Winter

It'll start snowing soon and they'll start poring salt on all the roads. It looks like I'll have the CB finished just in time to put it away for weeks/months (however long it will take for the salt to disappear from the roads). I hate winter.

'New' layout

I changed the layout a bit in the hope to be able to place bigger photo's, but it doesn't really seem to work. If anybody knows how to get the photo's bigger, please let me know.
