What to do on a rainy afternoon?

Been working way too hard on the study lately, so I decided to 'take a day off' for a change. It was drizzling all day but I found some stuff I could do on the bike inside. I replaced the left handle bar controls, polished both controls (I did a very rough polish, I want the bike to be a little rough). Also replaced the brake pump by the one I bought at the Veteranen Treffen in Woerden. It's a lot smaller and it has a build in brake light switch, so now I'm able to drop the headlight a bit further. A lot of work and not very much to show for:

Apparently Discovery HD is making a documentary about the caferacer scene. This is the promo.

Looks great, such a shame I can't get Discovery HD over here :( 

Treffen onder de brug

Judging from the photo's of past events Onder de Brug in the Belgium city of Leuven is one of the better caferacer events in this little corner of the planet. ADV member MarcJ managed to take some really nice shots at this event. Here's a selection, more photo's here.

How could I not?

I went to the Veteranen Treffen in the city of Woerden. Never been to that meeting before, but I will most definitely be there again! The weather was sunny with some rain, but the rain didn't spoil teh event at all. I have never, ever before seen so many cool bikes in one day. Urals, Panthers, Ariels, Vincents, Benneli's (sei!), Nortons, BSA's, Nimbus's (Nimbi?), Velocette etc... etc... Most of them didn't even come on a trailer!  Admission to the event was low and it was obviously meant for everybody, not just motorfanatics. It was a sight to behold, not to be photographed. My photos really don't do the event justice.

Sorry for the poor quality, I really was too busy looking at the bike and didn't take the time needed to take pictures with an analogue lens.

There was a small market section as well. Found a nice brake pump with sensor and 4 exhaust clamps for the CB.

Since it´s got a headlight now

I might just as well make a tail light too. The parts: An old bold, some strips of iron, some round bar and of course again a stainless steel bowl bought at Xenos.

The result:

It might be mounted a bit too high to some peoples taste (and to my taste), but It has to be up that high: The license plate will have to find it's place below the light and any lower and the plate will get in trouble with the rear wheel travel. And a saddle will make it stick out less too.

found some time

and made a headlight bracket. After getting used to it for a few minutes I decided it looks really cool. Would have been nice if the headlight would have been just a little bigger, but it isn't. The photo doesn't really do the headlight justice though.

I'll have to find a new master brake cylinder with an integrated brake light switch, than I'll be able to lower the light a bit further.
